MDCAT Chemistry Past Papers and Practice Questions
MDCAT Chemistry papers are being added to this page, so the list below may be empty for now.
Chemistry papers mix short recall questions, calculations and longer questions that ask you to apply a reaction or a trend to an unfamiliar substance. Past test papers show the style of the questions and the pace of the test, which is what this page helps you practise.
The syllabus, the test format and the marking rules for MDCAT are set by the testing authority and can change from year to year, so check the latest official notice before relying on an old paper. Files are published by Medical and Dental College Admission Test (Pakistan); Trinity Tutors is an independent tutoring service and is not endorsed by or affiliated with the board.

How to Prepare for MDCAT Chemistry with Past Papers
Old papers are most useful for learning the format and finding weak areas in Chemistry. Do not assume that questions will repeat.
How to identify the paper, session and variant
MDCAT practice papers are organised by the year of the test and the subject section.
MDCAT is generally held once a year, so papers are grouped by year rather than by session.
Each file belongs to one section of the test. Use the section that matches the part you are revising.
Practise under test conditions
Set a timer for the section you are practising, answer in one sitting and avoid looking at notes. Record both your score and how long you took, since pace matters in a timed test.
Write balanced symbol equations with state symbols whenever a question asks for an equation, because marks are usually awarded for the formulae and the balancing separately.
Show each step of a calculation, including the formula used and the unit, so that a slip in the last step does not hide correct working.
Spend the first minutes on recall questions you can finish fast, and leave multi-step calculations until the quick marks are secure.
Checking your answers
No mark schemes have been added for Chemistry yet. Until they are, ask your teacher to check your work or look for the matching mark scheme on MDCAT's website.
Look at which words and chemical terms earn each mark and which alternative answers are accepted; chemistry mark schemes are specific about names, formulae and observations.
Typical slips are an unbalanced equation, a missing state symbol, forgetting the unit of concentration or gas volume, and describing a test result in loose words.
Keep an error log and plan your revision
After each paper, write down every lost mark in a log. Note whether each lost mark came from recall (a test, a reaction), a calculation step, a missing unit or state symbol, or misreading the command word.
Then turn the log into a short weekly plan: choose two or three topics, revise them from your notes, and test them with fresh questions. Spread the papers you have across several weeks instead of attempting them all at once.
A good week alternates one full paper with two short sessions that redo the questions you lost marks on, with a different area of the syllabus each time.
Group practice by area such as stoichiometry, energetics, equilibria or organic chemistry, so that repeated mistakes in one area become obvious.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find the correct MDCAT Chemistry paper?
Check three things on the paper: the year and section. MDCAT practice papers are organised by the year of the test and the subject section.
Is the MDCAT Chemistry syllabus the same every year?
The syllabus, the test format and the marking rules for MDCAT are set by the testing authority and can change from year to year, so check the latest official notice before relying on an old paper.
Where can I find the matching mark scheme?
No mark schemes have been added for this subject yet. Check MDCAT's website or ask your teacher, and see the list above as new files are added.
Are all MDCAT Chemistry past papers on this page?
No. This page lists only the files that have been added so far, and some sessions may be missing. For the full official list, use MDCAT's own website.
Will questions from old MDCAT papers appear again?
You should not count on it. Use old papers to learn the style and timing of the test and to find weak areas in Chemistry, then revise the whole syllabus.
Are these files endorsed by MDCAT?
No. The papers are published by Medical and Dental College Admission Test (Pakistan). Trinity Tutors is an independent tutoring service and is not endorsed by or affiliated with the board, and it cannot promise any particular grade or result.
How many Chemistry papers should I attempt before the exam?
There is no fixed number. Attempt papers until your marks and your error log stop changing, and re-do old mistakes with new questions rather than repeating the same paper.
Can a tutor help me with Chemistry?
You can browse a Chemistry tutor or contact us with the board, level and topics that cost you marks, and we will say honestly whether we have a suitable tutor.
Past papers, mark schemes and reports are the property of their exam boards. They are shared here for study and practice; always check the board's own website for the current syllabus and rules.
