NUST Entry Test Tutors: NET Syllabus, 2027 Dates and a 12-Week Plan
NUST entry test tutors help applicants revise the FSc-level content that the NUST Entry Test (NET) is built on, and practise it as timed multiple-choice questions. This page sets out the subjects and weightings, the 2027 test series, a 12-week plan and how to request a tutor from Trinity Tutors.
A tutor cannot know the questions of a particular year and cannot promise a score or a place. What a tutor can do is teach the content, build speed and accuracy, and show where marks are being lost. The facts below were read on the NUST website on 14 October 2026, and each section links to the official page so you can check it again.

What Is the NUST Entry Test (NET)?
The NUST Entry Test, called the NET, is the test the National University of Sciences and Technology uses to admit undergraduate students for its engineering, computing, sciences, business, architecture and other programmes.
NUST says the test is compiled from the textbooks prescribed for HSSC (FA and FSc) courses, so it is mainly a test of Part I and Part II content, not of anything outside the school course.
A candidate may sit the NET more than once, and the best score counts. Only one attempt is allowed per discipline in any one series. Read the full rules on the NUST undergraduate admissions site.
No approved tutor is listed for this exact search right now. Send us a request and we will say honestly whether we can help; we do not promise a match.
NUST Entry Test Syllabus and Subject Weightings
The subjects tested depend on the group a candidate applies in. NUST publishes the weightings, which are copied below from its page on the subjects included in the NET.
Mathematics carries half the marks for engineering, computing and natural sciences, so it is where most preparation time goes.
| NET group | Subjects and weighting | Usually taken by |
|---|---|---|
| Engineering | Mathematics 50%, Physics 30%, English 20% | Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical and ICS students |
| Applied Sciences | Biology 50%, Chemistry 30%, English 20% | Pre-Medical students |
| Business Studies and Social Sciences | Quantitative Mathematics 50%, English 50% | Any HSSC combination |
| Architecture | Design Aptitude 50%, Mathematics 30%, English 20% | Students with Mathematics and Physics |
| Natural Sciences | Mathematics 50%, English 50% | Students from other streams |
NET Mathematics: areas to revise
Work through the FSc Mathematics course in the order of your textbook, then drill mixed sets so that you can pick the right method quickly.
- Algebra, quadratic equations, sequences and series
- Trigonometry and its identities
- Coordinate geometry, straight lines and conics
- Functions, limits, differentiation and integration
- Permutations, combinations and probability
NET Physics: areas to revise
Physics questions mix a concept with a short calculation, so practise units and estimation as well as formulas.
- Mechanics: vectors, motion, forces, work and energy
- Waves, sound and light
- Electricity, magnetism and electromagnetic induction
- Heat and thermodynamics
- Modern physics and atomic structure
NET Chemistry and Biology: areas to revise
Both subjects reward a clear memory of definitions, reactions and processes, tested through four-option questions.
- Chemistry: atomic structure, bonding, equilibrium, organic reactions
- Biology: cell biology, genetics, human physiology, ecology
- Short revision of every chapter, then timed mixed sets
NET English: areas to revise
NUST says the English paper follows the pattern of the SAT. Practise reading short passages, choosing the best word and correcting grammar under time pressure.
- Reading comprehension and inference
- Vocabulary in context
- Grammar, punctuation and sentence structure
- Sentence completion and error spotting
NUST Entry Test Format and Test Centres
The questions are multiple choice, each with four answer options, and the test includes an intelligence part. This is what NUST says about the format in its admissions FAQ.
The NUST page we read does not state the total marks, the length of the test or whether wrong answers lose marks, so check the current NET guide before you rely on any figure you hear from other sources.
- Computer-based test (CBNET) in Islamabad and Quetta; paper-based test (PBNET) in Karachi and Gilgit.
- Computer-based sessions run from 9:00 to 12:00 in the morning and from 14:00 to 17:00 in the afternoon.
- Test venues named by NUST: H-12 Campus in Islamabad, DHA City in Karachi, NBC in Quetta and APS Jutial in Gilgit.
- The best score across your attempts is counted, with one attempt per discipline in any series.
NUST Entry Test 2027 Dates: Series 1 to 4
NUST lists four series for admission in 2027 and marks the schedule as tentative. These dates are copied from its dates to remember page, read on 14 October 2026. Series 1 registration closes on 14 November 2026, so start preparing early if you plan to sit it.
| Series | Online registration | Test dates and centres |
|---|---|---|
| Series 1 | 4 October to 14 November 2026 | From 17 November 2026, computer-based, Islamabad |
| Series 2 | December 2026 to January 2027 | January to February 2027 in Islamabad; March 2027 in Quetta (computer-based); March 2027 in Karachi (paper-based) |
| Series 3 | February to March 2027 | April 2027, computer-based, Islamabad |
| Series 4 | April to May 2027 | June to July 2027 in Islamabad; July 2027 in Quetta; July 2027 in Karachi and Gilgit (paper-based) |
ACT and SAT route
NUST also accepts ACT or SAT scores for some programmes. For Fall 2027 it lists registration from 20 April 2027 to 25 July 2027, and minimum scores that depend on the programme group. Scores are valid for two years. See the NUST admissions page for the current rules.
Results and merit
The page we read gives no result dates. NUST explains how merit is generated on its own eligibility and merit pages.
How NUST Entry Test Tutors Help
A good NET tutor works from the FSc textbook and from your own weak topics, not from a fixed script. Lessons usually combine the following parts:
- A first lesson that checks FSc marks, recent mock results and the group you are applying in.
- Topic-by-topic revision of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology, in the order that suits your timetable.
- Short timed sets of multiple-choice questions, to build speed without losing accuracy.
- English practice in the SAT style: reading, vocabulary and grammar.
- A mistake log that sorts errors into content, method, careless and time.
A 12-Week NUST Entry Test Study Plan
This is a sample plan to discuss with your tutor, not an official schedule. Move weeks around to fit your series date and your school timetable.
Weeks 1 to 4: rebuild the content
Revise every chapter of the main subjects, starting with the heaviest weighting. Do a short untimed set after each chapter and write down the questions that went wrong.
Weeks 5 to 8: add speed
Move to mixed sets of 20 to 30 questions with a clock. Review every mistake the same day and redo the topics that keep returning.
Weeks 9 to 10: full-length practice
Sit mock tests at the same time of day as your real session, in the format of your centre. Practise English every second day.
Weeks 11 to 12: polish and rest
Revise formulas and definitions, repeat only your weakest topics and keep the last two days light. Sleep and a calm morning are part of the plan.
Common Mistakes That Cost Marks in the NET
These are patterns teachers describe often. Your tutor can tell which of them applies to you.
- Spending too long on one hard question and leaving easy marks behind.
- Memorising formulas without practising when to use them.
- Neglecting English because it carries fewer marks than Mathematics in some groups.
- Practising only untimed, so that speed falls apart in the real session.
- Ignoring the official schedule, then missing a registration date.
How to Choose a NUST Entry Test Tutor
Tutors on this site list the subjects and levels they teach, and our team approves a profile before it appears. What each tutor offers, where and at what fee differs, so read the profile and ask about a short trial lesson before you book.
Lessons can be online, or at your home in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore where a tutor is approved there. Our A Level online tutors page explains how online lessons work. Compare tutors with these questions:
- Which NET group and subjects do they teach, and how do they use timed practice?
- Can they cover English as well as the science or mathematics paper?
- How often do they share progress, and can they adjust the plan if a series date changes?
- Do they offer a short trial lesson, and what are the fee and schedule?
