SAT Tutors: Digital SAT Format, 2026-27 Dates and a 10-Week Plan
SAT tutors help students practise the two sections of the digital SAT, Reading and Writing and Math, and learn to work through adaptive modules against the clock. This page explains the format, the 2026-27 test dates, a 10-week plan and how to request a tutor from Trinity Tutors.
A tutor cannot know the questions of a particular sitting and cannot promise a score or a place. What a tutor can do is teach the content, build speed and accuracy, and show where marks are being lost. The facts below were read on the College Board website on 15 October 2026, and each section links to the official page so you can check it again.

What Is the SAT?
The SAT is a College Board test that many universities in the United States and elsewhere accept as part of an application. It is taken on a computer, using the Bluebook app, and it measures reading, writing and mathematics.
In Pakistan, some universities also accept SAT scores. NUST, for example, lists an SAT route for some programmes, as described on our NUST entry test tutors page and on the NUST admissions site. Always read the policy of each university you apply to.
Whether you need the SAT, the ACT or neither depends on the universities on your list, so build that list first.
No approved tutor is listed for this exact search right now. Send us a request and we will say honestly whether we can help; we do not promise a match.
SAT Syllabus: What the Test Covers
The SAT does not follow a school syllabus. It tests skills that a student has built in school, so preparation means practising those skills in the style of the test.
The College Board describes the two sections on its SAT structure page. Most questions are multiple choice, and some Math questions ask you to type in an answer.
SAT Reading and Writing: skills to practise
The section uses short passages, each followed by a question. Practise reading carefully, finding evidence and choosing the clearest, most correct wording.
- Understanding what a short passage says and implies
- Words in context and the purpose of a sentence
- Grammar, punctuation and sentence structure
- Combining ideas and making transitions between them
SAT Math: skills to practise
Math questions come mostly from school algebra, data analysis, geometry and trigonometry. Speed with algebra and careful reading of the question matter most.
- Linear equations, systems and inequalities
- Quadratics, functions and graphs
- Ratios, percentages, statistics and probability
- Geometry and basic trigonometry
Using the built-in tools
The test app has a graphing calculator and a reference sheet. Learn them in practice tests, so that they save time on the day instead of costing it.
Digital SAT Format and Timing
The College Board states the structure below. The test is adaptive by module: how you do in the first module of a section decides whether the second module is easier or harder.
Scores are reported on a 400 to 1600 scale, made of two section scores. Check the College Board's score pages for how each score is calculated.
| Section | Modules and time | Questions |
|---|---|---|
| Reading and Writing | 2 modules of 32 minutes (64 minutes) | 54 |
| Break | 10 minutes between the sections | None |
| Math | 2 modules of 35 minutes (70 minutes) | 44 |
| Total | 134 minutes of testing (2 hours 14 minutes) | 98 |
SAT Test Dates 2026-27 and Registration Deadlines
The College Board lists these weekend dates on its dates and deadlines page, read on 15 October 2026. It states that the dates and deadlines apply to all students, in the United States and abroad, and that late registration is available for an extra fee.
Book early, because centres near you can fill up before the deadline.

What to Expect on SAT Test Day
You take the digital SAT on a laptop or tablet, using the Bluebook app, at a test centre. Install the app and run its device check well before the day, so that no technical problem appears at the door.
Bring the identification your admission ticket asks for, and a charged device if you are using your own. The College Board publishes the exact rules on its testing rules page, and they change, so read them in the week before.
Treat the 10-minute break as part of the plan. Eat something light, drink water and avoid reviewing questions, because the second section needs a fresh mind.
Once the test ends, scores are released on the dates shown on the College Board score release page. Plan to take the SAT early enough that a second attempt remains possible if you want one.
- Complete the app's device check and a full practice test beforehand.
- Bring the ID and admission ticket that the College Board asks for.
- Use the break to rest, not to review.
- Leave time in your calendar for a second attempt.
How SAT Tutors Help
Good SAT tutors start from a practice test and teaches from your results, not from a fixed script. Lessons usually combine these parts:
- A first lesson built on a full practice test, to find where marks are lost.
- Targeted teaching of the algebra, grammar or reading skills behind the errors.
- Timed module practice, so that pacing becomes a habit.
- Training in the test app, its calculator and its answer-marking tools.
- A mistake log that sorts errors into content, method, careless and time.
A 10-Week SAT Study Plan
This is a sample plan to discuss with your tutor. Move the weeks to fit your test date and your school workload.
Weeks 1 to 2: diagnose
Take a full practice test in the Bluebook app under real timing. List the question types that cost the most marks.
Weeks 3 to 6: build skills
Study one weak area at a time, such as quadratics or punctuation, and finish each with a short timed set.
Weeks 7 to 9: practise modules
Do full modules against the clock, then a full test each week. Review every wrong answer and write the reason.
Week 10: polish and rest
Repeat only weak areas, check the test-day rules and keep the last two days light.
Common Mistakes That Cost Marks in the SAT
These are patterns that SAT tutors describe often. Your tutor can tell which of them applies to you.
- Practising on paper only, then meeting the test app for the first time on the day.
- Ignoring the first module, although it shapes the second one.
- Answering a Math question without rereading what it asks for.
- Memorising tricks without understanding the grammar rule behind them.
- Registering after the deadline and paying the late fee.
How to Choose a SAT Tutor
Tutors on this site list the subjects and levels they teach, and our team approves a profile before it appears. What each tutor offers, where and at what fee differs, so read the profile and ask about a short trial lesson before you book.
Lessons can be online, or at your home in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore where a tutor is approved there. Our A Level online tutors page explains how online lessons work. Compare tutors with these questions:
- Do they teach the digital SAT, with its modules and test app, not an older paper version?
- Do they teach both sections, or only Math or only Reading and Writing?
- How do they use practice tests, and how often do they share progress?
- Do they offer a short trial lesson, and what are the fee and schedule?

Frequently Asked Questions
What are SAT tutors?
They are tutors who help students practise the digital SAT: its Reading and Writing and Math sections, its timing and its app. Send a request with your target test date and we will say honestly whether we have a suitable tutor.
What does the digital SAT cover?
Two sections: Reading and Writing, and Math. The College Board describes them on its structure page.
How long is the digital SAT?
The College Board states 134 minutes of testing, 98 questions and a 10-minute break between the sections.
What is an adaptive SAT?
