I teach Computer Science at different academic levels, including Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Computer Science (9618), as well as International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) Computer Science for Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL) students. My teaching approach focuses on developing a strong understanding of concepts, computational thinking, logical reasoning, problem-solving, and practical programming skills. Each lesson begins with a brief review of previous learning, followed by a clear explanation of new concepts, worked examples, guided practice, and independent exercises. I use Python programming examples, real-world applications, exam-style questions, and regular formative assessments to identify learning gaps and monitor progress. For students who find the subject challenging, I break complex topics into smaller, manageable steps, revisit foundational concepts, provide additional practice, and adapt my teaching pace to suit their individual needs. I encourage students to ask questions, learn from mistakes, and build confidence through consistent practice rather than memorisation alone.
I have a background in Computer Science, including a Master’s degree in Computer Science (MS CS), and research experience with publications in IEEE. Alongside my teaching and tutoring experience, I work as a full-stack developer for an online company, which allows me to connect classroom concepts with practical software development and industry applications. My experience includes supporting students with programming, object-oriented programming, algorithms, data structures, theoretical concepts, and examination preparation. I also help students develop effective study habits, improve their technical vocabulary, and understand how to structure answers according to examination requirements. I believe that regular communication with parents is essential for supporting student progress. I keep parents informed through periodic updates on attendance, participation, strengths, areas requiring improvement, completion of assigned work, and performance in assessments. Where necessary, I discuss specific learning concerns and suggest practical steps that parents can support at home. My goal is to create a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment that encourages independent thinking, steady academic development, and long-term confidence in Computer Science.
